Failure to address my car machenical breakdown
after getting a warning on my car (GTI golf 6) I took it to VW Lindsay saker bloemfontein for diagnostics processes. The dealer called the insurance for approval to fix the problem which was the streched timing chain. The insurance instructed the dealer to get an approval from me as the owner to strip the engine so that they can send their agent to come and verify the fault. The dealer called me for approval also mentioning that they will need R7000 for striping of the engine. I immediately called the insurance asking them on who is going to be responsible for the cost for striping of the engine, and their answer was that I will incur the cost as the owner of R7000. I then ask where in the contract does this appear. The insurance then referred me to page 4 of the contract under claims procedure. I then argued that the contract does say I must incur the cost it only says I will Authorise the dealer of which i don't have a problem to do, but have a problem to incur the striping costs. I forwarded the insurance the Quotation of R19,018.05 on the 21.01. 2015 and to date they have said nothing my car is not fixed but insurance keeps making debit out of my account. Kindly help Peter.
