Driveshaft claim denied

Good day

I would like to log a complaint, or rather, further investigation.

My car is in for repairs, a warranty claim for a water pump and a driveshaft was sent to innovation for approval. Only the water pump claim was approved, stating that the policy start date and the first car service date is closer to each other, therefore, I knew about the fault. Which is not entirely true.

Background. The car was bought through a private sale via MFC. The car went through a Dekra technical inspection in Pine town Durban on the 1st of September 2023, as I am based in Gauteng.

The Dekra report showed no errors on the report (please see attached), therefore, the private sale went through between myself, private seller and MFC Private Vehicle Finance. Then I took delivery of the vehicle on the 9th of September 2023 and drove it back to Gauteng from KZN.

On 14 September 2023, I received a call from Innovation group and approved that I would like an extended car warranty for my car, which than I was told that I would receive policy documents in the next 48 hours, which I did not until following the following week.

As the car being a preowned vehicle, On 16 September 2023, I decided to do a DSG oil service change on the vehicle as that is the only way to keep the mechatronic system healthy and to prevent breakdowns. It was then discovered that the driveshaft is bent and needs to be replaced. I started following up on my warranty cover and found out that is it still inactive as I wanted to log a claim for the drive shaft, seeing that I have cover for it.

Fast forward, warranty was now active and I took the car to CarTime Midrand RMI Centre so I could get a second opinion if there is an issue with the driveshaft, which there was and a claim was logged by CarTime Midrand.

Driveshaft claim was denied stating that I knew about the error, which I did not. I have also logged a complaint with Dekra PineTown that why would a car with a bent driveshaft pass a roadworthy test and a technical inspection with the issue not being reported on the report. The matter is still under investigation with Dekra Management.

All I am stating is I knew nothing about the fault and for at least for innovation group to pay 50% percentage for the driveshaft and I can accommodate the other 50% of the bill repairs.

I have all necessary attachments if you require them

I hope you find this in order.

Regards
