OVERPRICED
Electrical Certification for electric fences are required (apparently this I found out after the house what registered - but that is another story!) Therefore I contacted the only company that is able to do this compliance certificate via the agent - INNOGY in Grahamstown He quoted R699.73 for transport to go and do the quote which stated that this did not include the work that needed to be done when he got there. I now have the certificate - he replaced /installed 4 earth spikes and 1 lightning divertor at a cost of R672.60. The certificate cost R969.00 and another round of transport of R699.73 and labour of around R1197 (R350 per hour) The total for all this came to R3538.33
I personally don't think he needed to make two trips to do this amount of work and a little forward planning could have prevented a duplicate journey (if in fact it did) - but my point is a brand new 6 strand electric fence in Port Elizabeth was quoted at R6500 including certificate, a JVA Z13 energiser - 2 lightning divertors and all fencing being of marine grade stainless steel? How is this possible????
Some one needs to give this guy some competition as this pricing seems radically over the top!!!
