Rejection of claim

I am absolutely disappointed with the rejection of my claim by Indequity Insurance. When you take up cover, no one asks you a 1000 questions yet when you have a claim they find a loophole which results in the rejection of the claim. What is the point of paying expensive premiums monthly, only to learn that you are technically not covered! Am i as the insured supposed/expected to know each and every intruder’s modus operandi and foresee what’s coming? Isn’t the point of insurance to cover ourselves against such risks? I have basically wasted thousands of rands paying for sweet nothing. Truly upsetting and disappointing.
