********* and improper practices

Hi. As your medium has always brought forth just results I thought I'd bring this latest injustice to you'lls notice. We began our lease on the 01/12/2017 after an emergency left my Mum, wife and newborn baby girl in immediate need of finding accommodations. The advert was for R5200pm and though the apartment at Davenport Square was in really bad shape, especially in terms of health and safety, we accepted due to our circumstances and the fact that we were promised that any issues would be remedied once we were able to complete a snag list. After signing, paying the Advance/Security deposit, our first issue was that only when the formal lease was sent to us were we informed that "Bank Charges" required us to now pay R5330pm so having not known beforehand it took us a while to rectify but before our lease had ended, we had fully paid all agreed monies in full. Secondly was that as to our snag list, only a maintenance guy was sent in but I had to fully fit the bill to make the apartment proper, as well as safe, given that there were multiple electrical shorts and other health and safety concerns which were never seen to aside of my prioritizing my family's well-being. The problem at hand is that we had come to make it our home but towards the end decided to not continue another year as my step-dad being in ill health required our assistance from the end of this year, for a little while and so we followed protocol and made our intentions known, as well that we would be making further contact as we would still want to be in that flat again after about 3months of helping dad out because aside of everything else, we had come to really love Davenport Square and so did our 1year old baby. At the end of our lease, we showed a few interested parties the flat and it was quickly chosen, most especially because of my particular upkeep, which Elsabie, our agent, commended us on, she also did her final walk through and assured us that our Advance/Security deposit would wouldn't be immediately paid as all was in order. Ever since we moved however, I've called and emailed and for the first time we've never been able to make contact and have received nothing single response. During our stay, when we weren't aware of the bank charges, we were always able to maintain contact in lieu of such so I've truly no idea why when our monies are due, legally we aren't able to get even feedback. We really do need our funds in order and approaching this legally will cost us more than the issue at hand is valued so I'm truly disheartened as to how we remedy these issues when companies that have run so long and represent 100s of people behave like this. Please help us
