If I could give it less than 1 I would

I am currently staying at the Indaba hotel as I am attending a conference here. When I arrived not only was I treated terribly by the reception staff, but hours later once I was finally able to check in, I found my room had no wifi reception (215) which, as this is a business trip from Cape Town I could not do any work. I personally went to reception to ask them about this and the receptionist said someone would go and check (they didn't). I got some dinner from the bar (they forgot about my order so it took almost an hour for a toasted sandwich). When I got back to my room there was still no wifi and the TV also didn't work (static). As it was raining and there is no way to get from my room to reception without getting soaked I called reception about 4 times and nobody answered. I then called the duty manager and before hearing me out, he connected me to reception where my call still was not answered. When I called the duty manager back and told him there was no wifi and nobody had come to sort it out (even after I was advised that they would) and that the TV was also not working, he got shirty with me telling me I'm not special and that the whole hotel was not getting TV reception. When I asked whether the same was happening I got no audible response. I advised him that I was not happy with the service and he said I'm not the only one here. So I advised him I would never be staying at Indaba hotel again, to which he responded "ok" and hung up. Horrific! Never stay here!

Dear Ms Paddock
Thank you for bringing the less than perfect service to our attention as it is only with constructive criticism such as yours that we are able to achieve and maintain the service excellence for which the Indaba Hotel, Spa & Conference Centre is renowned.
Have noted that your arrived at the hotel at 09H00 and no early check-in was booked. Unfortunately your room was not ready as check-in to the hotel is only at 14H00. I understand that you went through to the conference and on return to Reception was then assisted with an early check-in at 13H00 by our receptionist Carmen. I do apologise if you found her rude in anyway and will certainly take this up with her HOD.
Apologies also for the poor service received from our F&B Department - we will certainly investigate this and take corrective action as necessary.
As you are aware, Johannesburg had torrential rain yesterday with severe flooding in various areas. Unfortunately the poor weather conditions affected our telecoms including our phone lines, television and satellite signals; and WiFi. We have worked through the night to rectify this and do apologise for any inconvenience caused to you.
As a gesture of goodwill and to make up for the poor service received, we would like to invite you back for a complimentary1 (one) night stay for 2 (two) people sharing inclusive of accommodation, breakfast and 1 (one) dinner for 2 in our award winning Chiefs Boma Restaurant.
This offer is valid until 31 July 2017 and is subject to availability. Once you have decided on a date, kindly contact ELMARI BRIERS on *** and she will gladly assist you with your booking.
Apologies again for any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming you back soon
Yours Sincerely
