Yet another dubious business practice to be made aware of.

I am rating 1 start not because of their products, but rather their dubious business practices. Client needed an emergency replacement laptop, I saw a Dell advertised on their website with a good spec. She phoned the Rosebank branch and they confirmed the model, price and stock availability. She paid and collected the laptop, together with 2x 1TB Seagate External hard drives. When I went to transfer the data from her old laptop to the new Dell, I immediately noticed that the Dell only had half the RAM advertised! Long story short, she went to get her RAM installed after we confirmed with a salesman, and then got told when she got there my the store manager, that the 8GB RAM was only for online purchases?????? There is no disclaimer, notification or alert of any nature whatsoever on their website to support this statement. Eventually, to get rid of her, she reluctantly agreed to pay the R 300 offered by the manager to install the additional RAM. The manager offered to take the laptop back and then have my client order the exact same thing online, so she can get the advertised RAM, knowing full well she would refuse as I had already configured it for her. No wonder people refer to them as Incredible *******ion - exactly be because of these type of practices....
