VIOLATION OF POPI ACT

I am writing this email with heavy heart after an insult and attack` I suffered in front of my child. Last Friday (25.06.2021) I went to Incredible Connection to buy a laptop which was on sale ( HP I3 C/Intel R7999). At the till point the cashier explicitly stated she would not proceed with the transition because RCS cards are highly prone to ***** and that truly humiliated me however I politely asked them to contact RCS and conduct security checks because I real needed the laptop and I was afraid that it will be sold out soon because at Game stores Pinecrest and Gateway it was sold out already however the cashier, salesman and so called supervisor simple looked at me disrespectfully and continued to say that that they would not participate in ********** transitions. I had my phone in my hand then one of them screamed he is recording us then I said if all what you have said and done is in accordance with your company policy there’s real nothing to worry about however they again started to shout at me in front of my son saying I must get out of the store as I was going out the security insulted me in Zulu however I did not respond I just kept going, when I was +60 mitres away the I heard footsteps and when I turned around it was the security and immediately she tried to manhandle me but somehow I managed to push her away then the cashier , salesman and the security hailed insults at me in front of crowd in the mall then the store manager came and then when I was showing her that I did not take any video the security guard grabbed my phone and they all ran inside the store …I mean they literal ran.

Honestly, I was left paralysed because I used my phone literal for everything ( eg banking, work email, calls etc ) that why it took me this long to report this abuse, as I am writing this email my phone is still ******* captured by Incredible Connection.

Since cell phone is indeed the personal item with the very sensitive information, surely this is the violation of POPI Act.
