Used product sold To customer

I purchased a television on the incredible connection website to be collected at the nearest branch. The website had not listed the television as a demo or used product and I was therefore inclined to believe that the tv was brand new. Upon setting up the tv I noticed the tv in used condition with the store email address even added on the setup as it is a smart tv that cud be connected to the Internet. I contacted the branch immediately and confirmed that the tv was used. I do not understand how a company as large as JD Group now under Steinhoff could allow used goods to be sold under the pretense of 'new'. The branch manager offered me a refund but let's consider the inconvenience....half a day off work to hire an Avis van to load the tv to bring it home as it didn't fit in my car. I have now lodged a complaint at their head office and eagerly await to see how the matter is handled. Will provide feedback on this forum once.

just an FYI this is the second time this occurred with an online purchase from incredible connection in the last year! The first was resolved but not without Inconvience.

Is this a trend with is retailer?

Another 20 minutes wasted to have to type this out.....if only customer service existed!

Feedback.....the head office had referred the matter back to the branch. The branch manager tells me that a demo product is not used....really?? Then states that I should have known that the product was not brand new because it was was on special. Let me clearly state that it was in no way marked as a demo product on their website which they generally do. So basically what this means is that any product on special on the INCREBIBLE CONNECTION WEBSITE all potential customers should ASSUME THAT IT IS USED ?? Is this true Incredible connection? I am then told the tv retails for R17k and the special price was unrealistic therefore if I expected a brand new tv it would have been incorrect of me. My response...Dion wired has the tv at normal price retailing at R11k. Response from manager....silence.

Further to this I had communicated the special to family to which they had also purchased the tv, they were told that the tv was out of stock and provided a reasonable alternate brand new tv. Let me once again state BRAND NEW. so am I the only stuck with a USED tv and yes contrary to the branch mangers beliefs a demo tv is a used tv.

i refused to deal with the branch further and contacted head office again who contacted me and wanted to refer it back to the branch to which I insisted that I did not want to happen, it is now a week with no response. The Inconvience is ridiculous...future sales to Massmart, they stand by their sale and products.

what I don't understand is how did their other customers get a new Tv on the same deal but they choose to not honor their sale with me? Different rules for different clients? There must be a standard policy so why am I being treated differently to the extent that I feel discriminated as a customer? Answer that incredible connection?

Before you forward your standard reply I will take this as high up as your organization goes and further if required to know why are you treating my sale differently, you have my money like all the other customers that purchased so what's the difference?

is it purchase from incredible connection at your own risk?????
