Toxic, ****** and Unprofessional Management

Anonymous MY experience at Incredible Connection is overshadowed by extremely poor management under Mike Van Rooyen. He fosters a toxic work environment where both staff and customers are subjected to yelling, threats, and unprofessional behavior. Rather than guiding or supporting employees, he bullies them, avoids responsibility, and manipulates staff to cover up his mistakes. I want to leave this place. This job is hurting me daily.

Mike demonstrates incompetence in basic business processes such as receiving and counting stock, refuses to take accountability, and negatively impacts the overall dynamics of the store. He often gives instructions under the guise of authority, claiming directives come from regional management, while threatening employees who question or challenge him. He frequently uses vulgar language, swears at employees, and dismisses staff input, even saying things like, “What you telling me is bull****.”

He also shows blatant favoritism towards customers based on race, asking staff things like, “Have you helped that white couple there?” or “Go help that Afrikaans lady.” He breaks company policy by lending stock to selected individuals, gives unwarranted warnings, and frequently lies to his superiors. While he pretends to be professional during store visits, he reverts to bullying and manipulative behavior as soon as management leaves.

Overall, the work environment under Mike Van Rooyen is highly toxic, ****** and unprofessional.
