the customer IS king believe it or not

I have always only bought my computer equip and supplies from IC largely because the sales guy is superb (Niel). Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the manager. I buy ink cartridges at a cost of approx. R1200 each. IC have a loyalty programme that if you buy 5 you get 20% off....it seems it is only monthly although this was never explained. I asked to buy 8 and get the same deal rather than come back every month. The manager got very shirty and offered me R50 off the other 3. I informed him that I buy everything from IC Fourways and needed to get external hard drives, tablet covers and a computer as well but only if he would provide me with the above deal. One would think that instead of a bad attitude and a straight no, he would have at least called head office or his superior. Not this chap. I walked out and went to Dion Wired where I received the appropriate service and discounts. Its amazing that in this day and age a manager can chase away the owner of an SME for LIFE. What he doesn't realise is that I have a wife and 2 kids who will also never purchase from IC in their LIFETIME. I guess someone who spends about R50k a year is really not that important.
