Shocking lack of professional knowledge and CPA violation by Branch Manager(Ronnie Mauda) at Wonderboom Junction

I am writing to express my absolute disgust with the service and treatment I received from Incredible Connection Wonderboom Junction, specifically from the Branch Manager, Ronnie Mauda.

On 14 March 2026, I purchased an Honor Pad X8a 11 tablet (***) for my child’s schooling. The store failed to perform a pre-sale inspection. Upon getting home, I discovered the screen was cracked. I returned it the very next day. The sales lady admitted it was DOA (Dead on Arrival) because she failed to inspect it at the point of sale.

On 16 March, your own technician, Ntanganedzeni, assessed the device and officially documented the fault on Job Card IC-HONO-***. Crucially, under the "OUTCOME" section, your technician explicitly marked "YES" for an "Exchange".

Despite his own technician’s expert recommendation, the Branch Manager, Ronnie Mauda, refused to authorize the exchange. During our interaction, he displayed a shocking lack of professional knowledge: He admitted on record that he does not know the Terms and Conditions printed on the back of his own invoices.

He confirmed the store has no procedure to inspect sealed products before selling them to customers.

He claimed to have a "diagnostic report" proving user damage, but when I repeatedly asked to see it, he could not produce it, eventually admitting no such report existed.

Most suspiciously, he only contacted me today—the 13th day of a 14-day return policy—in a clear attempt to run out the clock on my rights.

When I informed him I would be taking this to the Ombudsman, he stated, "I’m no longer going to talk to you," and shut down the conversation. I have left the broken device at the store. I will not accept a damaged product that your own technician recommended for exchange. I demand an immediate refund or a brand-new replacement. JD Group, please look into the conduct and competence of your management at this branch.
