Paid R25000 for an out of stock item which at the time of purchase was NOT out of stock and showed as available
I purchased the iPhone 12 Pro Max Gold online on February 14th. It is now February 20th (5 business days later) and received no information regarding my order. The site states that orders are delivered within 5 business days to major cities) and I understand if there may be delays but I was not informed of any delays. I then checked the item I ordered online and saw "OUT OF STOCK". Why let me purchase something if it is out of stock? At the time I made the purchase, there was nothing which stated that the item was out of stock nor was there anything saying that it is a backorder. After five working days, I was not informed of any delays nor was I informed that the product is out of stock, so I would have probably been left waiting until stock was available without any communication. I see that the iPhone 12 Pro Max Graphite is still in stock and so I requested that my order be changed from Gold to Graphite, but no, they cannot do this- I must wait up to 14 days for a refund to be processed and then I must repurchase. I will not wait 14 days for a refund to reflect in my account and then repurchase because although Graphite shows as in stock, so did the Gold which only showed as out of stock many days later AFTER I purchased. What if I purchase Graphite which is apparently in stock and then the same thing happens as what happened with the Gold? Why can they not just change the product for the order from Gold to Graphite?
I paid because the item was displayed as in stock. It seems like the store's mindset is this: "I have received your R25000 and our system failed to change "in stock" to "out of stock", but please wait until we have stock." No communication. No assistance in changing the order to something that IS in stock. Only a refund request which takes 48 working hours to process and then up to 14 days to reflect.
