Misleading information and poor service

Poor service not only from the staff but from senior management in the group..

I am writing this email hoping for some intervention from anyone as the store (Ferndale on Republic) cannot give me explanation….. On the 17th December 2022 I purchased a RCT Megapower Inverter ***9 from sales rep 230993 on sale for R8499.00. As this was a large sum of money, we asked the sales rep on how the product works, what to do and not to and the warranty on the product. Upon paying at the cashier we then again confirmed the warranty and was advised that there was a 1 year warranty provided we had the slip Within 6 months of having this inverter the battery life lasted only an hour and it was taken back to the shop to be booked it which took 21 days. Upon receiving the inverter back, I was informed that there was an issue with the battery which has been sorted. December 2023, not even a year of having the inverter and the battery has given up again, we have taken it back to the same shop to book it in. I received a call from the same technician who assisted us a few months ago and over the weekend, enquiring if I am happy to pay for the delivery fee R450 and the battery replacement fee (not sure on the price yet) as the battery has a 6 month warranty. Questions that cannot be answered: • Why was I provided with incorrect information when purchasing the inverter (would one really spend over R8k on something that has the ability to last 6 months???) • Why was I not informed 6 months into taking the device back, that the warranty is for 6 months and that if anything happens again I will need to pay for it? • Why was I not informed when taking the device back this past weekend that the 6 months warranty is no longer and that once the technician finds a fault I would need to pay for the replacement??? • The online enquiry team also didn't know this and I was informed to take the inverter back Re: [ Ticket: 525767 ] What amazes me is in not one of these interactions did anyone clarify or make me aware re the warranty is 6 months on the battery. On the not so pleasant call, the technician at the shop didn’t even know that the battery had a 6-month warranty, he could not advise the fees for delivery or what the process was…what service is this??? It is understandable that the sales reps, cashiers, technicians and other employees of the store has a lot of clients and items to sell but providing incorrect information that is mis-leading to customers I don’t accept. Please can you investigate this matter, take this up with the store as if they do not have the correct information rather find out or get back to a client rather that provide incorrect information. As a client being misinformed, I would highly appreciate if my device is fixed and delivered back to the store with no charge on me as I am still within my “one year warranty” Hoping that this review gets to someone as email and calls do not work!!
