Misleading advert

I enquired on 5 June 2021 on the special for the Lenovo V15 AMD 3020e, 4G, 1 TB HDD lap top. I phoned the store and the Sales Person confirmed this Lap Top had a spare port to add 4G RAM.

I went to the store on 5 June to purchase the Lap Top and the same Sales Person again confirmed that it has a spare port for the addition of a 4G ram.

On 17 June, I went to the store to add the 4G Ram. The Technician opened the Lap Top and there was only 1 port. The Sales Person checked again on the website for the spec and it showed 2 ports. The Sales Person promised to check with the store manager and revert.

On 22 June after prodding for an answer, he rep**** that they will add an 8G memory for R699.

I went to the store on 23 June for the installation and they want to charge me an additional R200 for installation. The 4G costs R599 with a 15% discount. This works out to R509.15 plus R200 - total of R709.15. I spent an hour at the store and the store manager refused to make amends for the misrepresentation. I was prepared to pay R709.15 for the 8G RAM.

Then I said I want to return the Lap Top as the actual product did not match the advert - and they want to charge me 15% handling fee for a mistake that is the responsibility of Incredible and Lenovo.

This has still not been resolved. I have sent emails and phoned the call centre at Incredible Connection- all they say is they have escalated. I want to speak to a senior person but it appears that no one can address my problem.

It is very frustrating to deal with a company like Incredible Connection.
