Lazy staff

I bought my laptop around August 2016. In February 2017 it started acted up. I spent the whole weekend of the 25 February 2017 loading my laptop. Few days before I had updated my laptop as I do. It then began to load saying repairing C drive. I then took it to Incredible Connection on Monday. Tech guy told me its software and that I needed them to upgrade meanwhile I did that. So they would charge me 2500 for the upgrade 900 to retrieve the data. Mind you he was yet to even test it. I took my laptop back home to decide what to do. I took it back asked them to retrieve the data first. Then I was told oh no its not the software its the harddrive meaning its the hardware which is covered under warranty. I told them I do not have the slip but box itself. They told me to return it to where I bought it. Friday 3 March 2017 I took it there. It still had the sticker Mall @ Carnival. And everything intack. They told me they need to trace the purchase and while I waited they couldn't trace the purchase. They booked in for repairs and I left. Now they are calling and requesting the slip meaning my laptop is just sitting there. My question is every purchase of any gadget no matter where purchased they trace it via the serial number. So I find the slip and its faded. What then? What should I do in the mean time, to do school work and my work. They unable to retrieve my data, they unable to find the purchase. I have never struggled with hardware as I have with Incredible Connection. Their staff is ***********. Shouldn't incredible itself have software to retrieve data? I have to tell the tech guys what to do in order for them to figure out the problem now they are lazy to find the purchase. At any organisation they will tell you keep the box incase the slip fades. Now its added days on having to wait for my laptop. Now I must do their job and search through bank statements.
