Incredibly ******* returns policy

Incredible connections ******* returns policy is not in line with the CPA.

Just over 1 month ago I bought a robot vacuum from incredible *******ion, carnival mall.

Sadly the laser broke, and the machine would not move without the lidar navigation system, so my R7500 vacuum was now a paperweight.

Since it's only been just over a month, I took it back to the carnival mall store for an exchange.

I was helped by a very helpful staff member, but sadly I was then told that the vacuum would be sent off for repairs to the supplier.

I explained that I don't accept that, I expect an exchange, as per the law (Consumer protection act) which dictates the consumer can decide whether they want an exchange, a repair, or a refund within the first 6 months of warranty.

I was then told by a rude store manager (In all fairness, I was rude in return) that despite what the CPA says, their store policy is different, and after 14 days, they send it back to the supplier to inspect it and decide what to do.

I continued to explain that I would not leave the store without the exchange, as the unit is OBVIOUSLY broken, it wouldn't even move. And more importantly, the CPA overrides any ******* returns policy they may try to make consumers abide by.

She then called a regional manager who proceeded to tell me that they will not abide by the CPA terms, and have their own policy. I pointed out that even their website clearly states that they abide by the CPA (not sure why they feel the need to state that they abide by the law, as if that's something special to do? Following the law should be a given...)

I was then told that he can't help me today, I will have to leave it at the store and he will try make a plan. I insisted that I will not leave until they honor the warranty according to the CPA.

At which point the store manager said she will wait for the regional manager to call her back. I never saw the store manager again, rather, the friendly staff member who first tried to help me came over with an exchange unit, and let me finally leave.

I then apologized for being rude, and explained that I didn't see any other way to make them follow the law as they claim to do. Sadly, I did not receive an apology in return for the lack of respect for the customer, or the law from either store manager, or regional manager.

This will be the last time I ever shop at incredible connection, I'll go to takealot, who actually abide by the CPA and are never rude to their customers (At least in my experience, which is vast)

As for the nice sales lady that helped me, I hope she is promoted to manager, she has good people skills and was actually willing to try and help.
