Incredible Connection (second time trying to get an answer)
On the 24th of August 2021 my opinion of Incredible Connection changed completely. I had then received a "brand new" laptop (Lenovo L340 Ryzen 3) that I ordered online on the 21st of August 2021. Since I received the laptop, I couldn't do anything on the laptop as it kept spontaneously shutting down. I took it in soon after the 24th and they simply told me that "new laptops do that, the laptop needs to start up". But the problem continued. I am a teacher who desperately needs a laptop to set up tests, exams and assignments for the youth of South Africa... Through missed due dates due to the supposed "brand new" yet faulty laptop, I took the laptop in again. The tech expert said that it had to go in for repairs, I agreed, only for him to call me telling me that the laptop is back and that there are repairs that need to be done but I need to pay for them. Which I refused to pay for since the laptop has a 3 year warranty. He proceeded to do a "windows reset" and called me again saying that the laptop can be fetched. I did, but the laptop was still the same. So I returned the laptop yet again on the 2nd of December 2021, by then I just asked for a refund since the laptop was "mine" for 3 months at that point but it was never fully functional nor was it in my possession but they told me that a product has to be sent in for repairs 3 times before a refund is possible. Since then, they only called me this Tuesday (25th of January 2022), I fetched it yesterday (Wednesday, 26th of January). According to the invoice the suppliers installed a new RAM and mainboard. Yet the laptop has a problem with connecting to wifi networks. So I went back today with "back-up" because I am inferior to the employees as I look like a teenager yet I am a working woman. One of the other tech experts, had a major attitude with me when I finally put my foot down and demanded a refund for a laptop that I have owned for 5 months but never even used. According to the Consumer Protection Act, all consumers are entitled for refunds for dysfunctional products or equipment for 6 months after purchase but I feel that they have been playing for time since it is now 5 months after the purchase. It is essential for a teacher to have a functioning laptop to effectively teach our youth of today but this Incredible Connection saga has hindered me from doing so. Many people have told me that Lenovo is a reputable laptop brand, which is why I bought a Lenovo. I am deeply disappointed not only by the poor customer service at Incredible Connection (Vaal Mall), but also Lenovo's poor quality of products. It is pretty obvious that the expectation would be if you buy a product (especially an expensive laptop) that it would be in fully working condition.
