Incredible connection not delivery of the law and there own policy.
on Friday, 28 February i walked into the incredible connection Herm**** store. I told the salesperson that I have R3000.00 to purchase a laptop and that i need it for my work. Looked at a laptop for about R3500.00 and he told me that he has a second hand one for R3000.00 still good and working perfectly. I asked him why the person gave it back and his reply was that she received a new one from a family member and that she does not need this one. I bought it and once home I found it to be to slow and slightly damaged. On Sunday, 1 March I took it back and they returned it without any problem. I bought a brand new HP laptop for R4500.00. once home I found that the key pad did not work effectively i.e the # was not above the 3 but the backwards slash on the right hand side of the pad. I had to do a shutdown with software download and waiting for it to jump back into action before I could try again. once logged into Skype I could not open any other document because the laptop froze as well as the camera and the i have to shutdown the laptop completely to fix the # and the @ key. the keyboard is also very slow I think the speed is about 18 word per minute and not 45 words as per standard. the shutdown requirement happened about 4 time over a period of one week. twice in a week I had to download software as well. the internet speed was so low that the speed test Okla gave me a red screen for the download time and the test was hence not successful. the normal ping 12 - upload 23 download 2. Not the case the two times i checked it. I even had the internet company check the usage and they found a major pull of data. Sunday, 1 March I took it back for replacement or money return and the manager simply said no the technicians need to test it on Monday, 2 March. They booked it in and today Monday, 2 March at 14:45 when I walked in i have received no call nor message from them and they could not test it because it was locked. Once i stood at the counter waiting for the technician the message came through but i could not make out what the message said. poor quality note. after 10 minutes the manager called a name out loud in the shop and the technician came to me and simply said sorry no refund. i entered the password and he started typing the two keys that i said was not functioning properly. He said that it can be fixed but that all the rest is working without testing it - I have die kode to enter. I left at 14:59 because i had an appointment. seven minutes later i walked back in and he then was busy with other clients trying to test the laptop i think - not effective serving two customers at the same time. He closed the laptop and i took it with me again. I tried once again tonight back home but the same scenario with the camera and some other keys now @ ; CONFUSED. now the camera still freezes more keys on the key pad and malfunctioning and this is not what i bought for R4500.00 - I realy thought that HP is a better quality (As per the managers words) product but it seems to me that this one proof me wrong. the battery also last about 1 hour 45 min till empty. the folders take for ever to open up and I can not add a hard drive to store not view documents it totally does not respond very slow to open and then 5 min to effect my instruction. when shutting down the laptop and wanting to remove the hard drive I have to wait 2 hours for the system to give me the green light to remove the hard drive. no according to the customer protection act I have 10 days to return the article it its not suitable for my use in ten day - i took i back within 7 and they shop policy stipulate a 14 day return policy with a penalty fee - but to now avail this shop simply refuse to adhere to the act not there own policy. what can i do? I have a ?R4500.00 laptop to write slow emails on. not execrable. the key boards it so slow that this text took me about 35 min to write. regards
