Incredible Connection and Vortex Instant suck: think twice before supporting them.

I bought a Vortex Instant air fryer online from Incredible Connection. 2 months outside the expiry of the guarantee period ( 12 months) the LCD display started playing up until after 17 months it has become a big problem: I have to guess the temperature and time. I took it back to Incredible Connection Nicolway and they fobbed me off to the manufacturer. The manufacturer confirmed the LCD needed to be replaced, but said they they do not supply this part, so I would have to buy a new machine. I went back to Incredible Connection and said that in terms of Section 55 (2) (c) of the Consumer Protection Act I am entitled to expect to buy goods that are usable and durable for a reasonable period of time, and I believe that this device does not meet that standard. They disagreed with me. So I am now going to the Ombudsman. A word of warning: do not buy an Instant air fryer unless you are comfortable that it might have to be tossed after a little over a year as if it has a problem they do not supply spare parts. And do not expect Incredible Connection to stand by you the customer: they support their suppliers instead. In the meantime I will be purchasing another air fryer: definitely not a Vortex Instant and definitely not from any company in the Pepkor Group.
