Incredible Connection and Acer - poor service

I bought myself a lovely light, powerful #AcerAspire 5 i7 laptop 4 months ago - actually 5 months but it has been in for repairs at IncredibleConnection Sandton for the past month so I got barely 4 months use out of it before it died. It cost me a lot, but I reckoned it was worth it. It’s my livelihood, after all. But the charging cable never fitted comfortably from the start. I’d have to wiggle it and prop it in place to get it to work - and it did… until it didn’t. So I took it back to Incredible Connection Sandton on 24 November. They assured me it would take 10 to 15 working days for it to be repaired. On 5 December, they forwarded me an email from Acer South Africa saying they were waiting for spares which should take 5 working days from 28 November …. and then I heard nothing else. Trying to call Incredible Connection Sandton was hopeless. I emailed - no response. So, more than 15 working days after I had left my laptop with them, I went to the store … and only then were they prompted to “escalate” the problem to the regional supervisor. And then again - nothing. So I emailed again - and got a polite response saying the issue had been escalated and they were still waiting for a response from Acer. They would update me as and when …. So I wait. I’m using my old, heavy, increasing unreliable laptop for now. Its unreliability is the reason I bought the #aceraspire5 i7 in the first place. BUT I am leaving for overseas next week. I am going for several months. I need a reliable laptop while I am there. And at this point, I doubt whether I will get my repaired #AcerAspire5 back in time - it’s Christmas in a couple of days. Silly season. If Acer doesn’t yet have the necessary parts, it’s unlikely they’ll get them before sometime next year - far too late for me. In any event, it’s a brand new computer - it shouldn’t take so long to repair. But Incredible Connection seems not to care.
