Formal Escalation - Acer Aspire Lite 14 Repeated Hardware Failure Despite Repairs and Multiple Reports

Formal Escalation - Acer Aspire Lite 14 Repeated Hardware Failure, Unsuccessful Repairs and Request for Resolution

Dear Customer Relations Team,

I am writing to formally escalate an ongoing issue regarding my Acer Aspire Lite 14 laptop purchased from Incredible Connection Mafikeng Mall on 31 January 2026.

Product Information

Product: Acer Aspire Lite 14 (AL14-32P-390U) Serial Number: NXD2YEA***E6L01 Purchase Date: 31 January 2026 Store: Incredible Connection Mafikeng Mall

I have experienced recurring hardware and system failures on this laptop for several months, despite reporting the issue and having the device assessed and repaired.

History of the Problem

The laptop started giving me problems as early as March 2026.

Initially, the issues were intermittent, and I continued using the device in the hope that they would not worsen. However, over time the problems became more frequent and severe.

The laptop would:

Freeze during normal use Become extremely slow and unresponsive Hang during startup Become stuck on the Acer logo Crash unexpectedly Freeze while working on important documents Fail during routine tasks

Display Blue Screen errors, including:

WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

As the problems continued to worsen, I eventually reported the issue and took the laptop to Incredible Connection for diagnostics and repair on 27 May 2026.

I paid approximately R200 for diagnostics and repair services. Although I have misplaced the receipt, the transaction should be available in the store records.

Unfortunately, even after the repair process, the problems continued. The laptop would work temporarily and then begin freezing, crashing, hanging during startup, and becoming unresponsive again.

I continued reporting the issue and seeking assistance because the problem was never fully resolved.

By 13 August 2026, the situation had become so severe that I was effectively unable to use the laptop for work. I returned to the store and reported the same recurring fault.

The laptop was returned to me, but the problem persisted.

I followed up again on 15 August 2026 because the laptop continued malfunctioning despite the previous repair attempts.

At this point, the staff at the Mafikeng Mall branch were already fami**** with my situation because I had repeatedly returned with the same unresolved issue.

Latest Failure

On 1 September 2026, the laptop once again started freezing and hanging during normal use.

On 5 September 2026, while converting an important work document from Word to PDF, the laptop froze completely.

It later became stuck on the Acer logo during startup and subsequently crashed with Blue Screen errors, including:

WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

These are the same types of failures that I have been reporting for months.

Impact on My Business and Work

This laptop is my primary work device.

It contains:

Business documents Tender submissions Quotations Client records Company information Invoices Financial records Important work-related files

I do not own an external hard drive, and I am extremely concerned about the safety and recovery of my data.

The repeated failures have already resulted in lost productivity, interrupted work, delays in completing business tasks, and significant frustration.

Request for Resolution

Given that:

The issue started in March 2026;

The problem has been reported multiple times;

Diagnostics and repairs have already been performed;

The same faults continue to recur;

The laptop is critical to my work and business activities;

I respectfully request the following:

1. An urgent and comprehensive technical assessment of the laptop. 2. Immediate assistance in safeguarding and recovering my data. 3. Written confirmation of the root cause of the fault. 4. A permanent repair solution. 5. If the fault cannot be permanently resolved, replacement of the laptop in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.

I believe I have given sufficient opportunity for this issue to be resolved through normal repair processes. However, the recurring nature of the fault indicates that the underlying problem has not been adequately addressed.

I therefore request urgent intervention and a written response regarding the way forward.

I look forward to your prompt assistance.

Kind regards,
