False advertising and worst customer service: Ref 734033

Incredible Connection advertised an iPhone 7 - 128G for R529.00 over 24 months. The deal was valid for 3 days (25 to 28 May). I went to the Sandton store to take up the deal and after doing all the paperwork, the consultant could not find it on the system.

The store tells me that the new deals are probably not loaded yet and they'll give me a call before end of day, once they are on the system. I received no call from the Sandton Store on Thursday (25 May), so I went back to the store on Friday (26 May) and was told they are still waiting for "Head Office".

I proposed that they complete the deal manually, filling forms and taking all the other details. My suggestions were not taken and at this point I wanted to raise an issue with the store manager, but I was given the call centre no to report or log my complaint. I was given reference number 734033.

At no point during these two day was I told that there was an error on the deal and that the advert has been withdrawn. On Friday late afternoon (@ 18H45) I missed a call from someone from the Sandton store acknowledging my complaint and she mentioned that there was an error as the deals should be R529 over 36 months and 24 months as advertised. The lady further mentioned that because I have taken the deal (and lodged a complaint) before the 28th May (advert expiry date), they will still give me the deal as advertised but they are just waiting for “head Office” to authorise.

I got a call again on Monday midday (29 May at 13H28) from the same lady that left me a voicemail on Friday, again giving me an update that “I will get the deal as advertised, but they are just waiting for “head Office” to get back to them.

At 16H28 on Monday, I received another call from a guy from the same Sandton store and now the story has changed. He tells me the deal was an error and it was withdrawn the same Thursday 25 May and that there were posters all over the store highlighting the “misprint”. This is a BLUE lie. 1. I would have seen these posters, 2. The store staff would have known as highlighted the error.3. the same deal was on the www.incredible.co.za website on Thursday and Friday and there was no notice of the error or of the deal being cancelled.

This is the most ridiculous service I has ever received from any retailer EVER!!!

Is this how Incredible Connection does business?
