Denied employment due to me knowing someone in the same store. Reason: ***** risk

I was told by a friend at one of the incredible connection branches that they were looking for people to work as casuals. So naturally being a university student, i went to ask if they had positions open. When I went to go and greet the sales manager of the store, i mentioned to him that the friend of mine had told me that there were positions open. The sales manager told me to email through my CV, and so I did. 2 weeks later I hear from my friend, not even from incredible connection itself, that they wont employ me because i knew someone at the same branch. This is what head office had told them. Now bare in mind that they hadnt even interviewed or known me before I went to go and ask if they had positions available. I think it is rather an insult that they flag me for such an uncalled for action. The fact that after i had sent my CV in I had sent about 5 emails and did not even receive one reply during the 2 weeks. I take high offence that they would make such a conclusion about me without even meeting me. I do encourage everyone to boycott Incredible connection, not only for their bad business practice, but for their over priced products.
