*****ulent Assessment Reports

Questionable Competency.

I have built and fixed desktop computers for over 20 years and hold a CompTIA A+ Certification.

After my house was struck by lightning, my computer began malfunctioning so I logged an insurance claim via FNB.

IAM was the first company to asses the computer, the computer was providing multiple Blue Screens of Death and even after re-installing windows completely, it continued to malfunction. I did not have equipment on me to individually test each component to identify which exact component failed, that is why we have assessors.

IAM's *********** report stated there was a software issue. 3 Formats, latest drivers, latest BIOS, computer still malfunctioned but this company decided to give a false report, probably an attempt to retain business with FNB. The computer inside clearly had not been disassembled as all dust was still in the same location, it had not been touched internally, even though they had my computer for 2 weeks.

The computer was sent to a competent second assessor who found that the CPU had blown. They came to this conclusion after swapping out parts into a working PC until they identified the problem component. Basic troubleshooting.

I purchased a replacement CPU and completed repairs, the computer is now back to working order, further proving the level of incompetency of this so called "Assessor"
