Lion Pride Lifestyle Estate Persistent Weekend Noise Disturbance by Inami Lounge – Violation of Municipal Noise Bylaws

As a resident who lives very close to Inami Lounge I wish to formally raise a complaint regarding the excessive noise levels emanating from this establishment over weekends. The loud music directly impacting the peace and well-being of the surrounding residential community. Despite the nature of the business, it is unacceptable that local residents are subjected to sleepless nights and ongoing disturbance. The lack of effective noise control measures demonstrates disregard for community standards and municipal regulations intended to protect residential areas. Every weekend I have to call JMPD because I would be woken up from my sleep because of this noise. I urge management to take immediate corrective action by implementing proper soundproofing, enforcing stricter closing times, and ensuring compliance with noise control bylaws. Failure to address this issue not only undermines the quality of life of nearby residents but also raises serious questions about the establishment’s commitment to responsible business practices. This ongoing disturbance is not only inconsiderate but also in contravention of Johannesburg’s municipal noise control regulations, which fall under the Environmental Conservation Act and relevant City of Johannesburg bylaws. These regulations stipulate that noise levels must not exceed acceptable limits set by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), and persistent noise that interferes with the ordinary comfort, convenience, peace, or quiet of the public is deemed a statutory nuisance. This matter requires urgent attention, and I trust that steps will be taken to restore respect for the neighborhood.
