DISGUSTED in quality of car that was sold
Where do I begin....
on the 13 November 2017 my journey with Honda East Rand Mall, Johannesburg part of the Imperial brand began. I had test driven a Chery QQ3 and didn't feel that bad
I was dealing with there sales person Themba Ngubeni. His service was very good and response time impeciable (However now I feel, Its almost as if he went the extra mile to make me comfortable in buying a car that SHOULD HAVE NEVER been on a REPUTABLE dealers floor in the first place).
After a couple of emails over a 3 week period, I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and buy a car from them (2013, Silver Chery QQ3 0.8 TE with 38000km) because of the service and all the safety that you would expect from buying a car from a "reputable dealer".
on the 05 December, in pouring rain. I went to go fetch my car. Once there, Themba started the car and there was no power. So he then jumped the car with a battery booster pack and said lets driver down the road to battery center to put in a new battery. (Which he drove to)
Once we where there the battery center employee stated that the fan belt was loose and also need to be tightened and the car was shuddering very badly (Now starting to wonder how this car passed the roadworthy test).
Then after this Themba drove back to Honda East Rand Mall, when I noticed that the car seems to also have no power, which he rep**** all cars are different this is normal for these type of cars and the he got out and said I may take the car.
Off I went, when in 1st gear I put my foot flat on the accelerator and the car maybe went 40km/h and shudder terribly. But I persevered on along the highway heading home towards Houghton Estate.
Along the way home the car broke down and I had to pul***** on numerous occasions as the car couldn't drive faster then maybe 80km/h and it had no power to drive up a hill and I had numerous cars hooting at me. I called Themba when I pulled to the side of the road and said "How dare Honda sell me a car like this" for responded "I'm so sorry, they were unaware, They will get someone out to me to assist and fetch the car"
Someone came out to fetch the car and then he tried to drive the car out of my complex where I stay but he couldn't drive it up the hill (driveway) as there was not enough power to accelerate up the hill. He said that it seems like its something to do with the air flow etc.. So he left the car at my place and had to drive back to the dealership and come out the following day and tow the car.
When he was by me, we chatted and he stated that the dealership was WELL AWARE that the Chery had MAJOR ISSUES and they shouldn't have sold it. He stated that the person who fetch the car when the dealership got it as a trade in from someone in Mpumalanga stated that the Chery had lots of problems and should be sold as s****.
Now what bothers me is after all of this I was left stranded at home with no means of transport and had to find a way fetch my wife and children.
HOW DARE A REPUTABLE DEALER SELL SOMEONE A CAR KNOWING THAT IT HAD ISSUES.
I WOULD BE VERY CAUTIOUS BUYING A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!
