Ford Ecosport - what a DISAPPOINTMENT

FORD ECOSPORT DRIVERS BEWARE!!

I bought a brand new Ford Ecosport 1.5 TDCI Trend on the 2nd of July this year. I noticed that the window rubbers were fitting very poorly and had at some places started pinching and forming little "bubbles". Seeing as it is still under warranty I took it to my nearest Ford branch (at 001146km), being Imperial Ford Diep River to have it assessed as a warranty repair on 15 July. After much frustration due to incorrect parts and general poor customer service at the branch I then had it repaired on 12 September. The window rubber repair was not to my satisfaction (see the photos) and I pointed this out immediately to the service consultant who said he would take it up with the Service Manager. To make matters worse, when I drove away from the dealership,I noticed my right rear door now had a rattle/vibration that was not there before. I turned around, let the service consultant drive with me to see (hear) the problem and the vehicle went back in the same day to make some adjustments. It appeared to be resolved but over time the rattling noise has started again...

The service manager came out to see me at home on 05 October and took photos of the window rubbers to send it to Ford South Africa. We also went for a drive so he could hear the rattle on the door but in all fairness it wasn't that apparent at the speed I was driving. After waiting for some time and still not getting feedback I escalated the matter to Ford South Africa's customer service. Imperial Ford Diep River then contacted me to bring the vehicle in for the window rubbers and door issue. I took my car in on 18 October. During the day I was contacted to inform me they were not going to fit new rubbers but will take more photos to send to Ford. They also did more adjustments on the door.

Ford SA then advised me that they escalated the matter to the Field Service Engineer as I was saying that the rubber fitment is very poor and by the time the vehicle is out of warranty the rubbers will have to be replaced again. I also sent them photos of 3 other Ecosports all with window rubber issues. (In my opinion it is a case of poor design as well as fitment).

Well, I have received feedback saying that the vehicle is within specification and they will not be able to assist with repairs. Unfortunately I cant seem to upload photos on HelloPeter

To make matters worse my fuel gauge got stuck on half the other day even though I had more than 3/4 worth of fuel in the tank. As I drove back to the garage the needle started rising very very slowly from half to 3/4 by the time I stopped at the fuel station. Just to be sure the attendant filled up and could only put in 7 liters! All these issues with only 006545 km on the clock!!

PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT YOUR WINDOW RUBBERS IF YOU HAVE AN ECOSPORT and if it is under warranty please take it to a dealership.
