Damaged bakkie
My name is Hans Hunink and I run a small business called Indomex, a company that manufactures Indonesian and Asian foods.
For my business I make use of a Ford Ranger bakkie for collections and deliveries.
On the 11th of November 2021, I collected glass jars and bottles at a company called Bonpack in the Westlake View area of Johannesburg. Whilst I was placing my order inside, my parked bakkie got damaged by a truck from Imperial. The management of Bonpack assisted me in getting contact details for the Imperial Group and after some e-mails, I got various documents together to finalize my claim with Imperial. The Imperial person was Boitumelo Edom (telephone 011- *** or cell ***). The documents were mailed to Boitumelo on the 22nd of November 2021. The receipt of the documents was acknowledged by Boitumelo, and she said that the claim would be presented to management and payment would be made in 30 days (like I was a supplier of some sort – I had to wait 30 days because they damaged my vehicle, like I was the irritation).
To date, on the 12th of January 2022, Imperial has not bothered to pay me for the damage that they caused. I am a small company and cannot afford lawyers to get this payment done.
