Kia and warranty disappointments
Good day,
I have had the worst experience with Kia George and Kia overall.
I'm not a person that would do this easily, but I really just feel there are more people in our country that has experienced this. I'm gonna try and keep this sweet and short. But I really hope that this mgs would have a positive impact; That everyone will think twice before buying Kia in this country.
I bought a second hand Kia Sportage 2.0 2013 model from Kia Bethlehem in the Free State. I traded in two vehicles on which they made a lot of profit. It's not even 2 years since I bought it from Kia Bethlehem. Please note that the Kia had just over 100 000 km on the clock and they promised me that the car has been fully checked and serviced. I have sent the vehicle back twice because of noise on the vehicle. They told me that it was the brakes. But I have proof that it was never the brakes.
4 weeks ago the noise became consistent and also very loud. I took my vehicle in to Kia George. At first they said they think that it may be the diff. After a few days they phoned me saying they found it is the gearbox. Please take careful note this is an automatic box plus this car does not haveba towbar. They stripped the gearbox to quote me. I got the quote to repair, not replace for a total of R90 000???
I do have a warranty on the vehicle. The day I bought the vehicle I requested that they please give me the best warranty possible because I do not have money to pay for a vehicle every month that is just standing.
The warranty company is named Impac underwritten by Bryte Insurance. They informed me that they will only pay for the gearbox, not transfer box. A total of R32 000. I was never advised be Kia who was the financial adviser. That policy only covers per item per claim, nor was I given the option of a top up warranty.
Today, Kia George quoted me R4850 to give my vehicle back with the gearbox in the boot to find a better quote. They are not even willing to help me find a more reasonable price.
We put our trust in car Dealerships. That they would provide us good second hand vehicles, that they would help with best advice when it comes to warranties. So that the day we can afford new cars we would return. I am a young man that now has to pay R4300 a month to the bank for broken down vehicle because I was advised incorrectly. I was charged more than 35% profit on top of the outsourced profit of the gearbox company.
I would really love Kia South Africa to help solve this problem. Just saying: it was a Kia Rio I traded on this vehicle. I am a fan of Kia. But this is not acceptable. Because I have asked for your advise as a dealer for the best warranty. I trusted that you would have checked my vehicle when complained the first time about the noise. Should I not receive any help I will not leave this at one review. Because we as South Africans always just accept bad service. If this was America I could have taken that money to take you to court. Because this car is the only car I have and without this vehicle I don't have an income.
I ask the community of South Africa for your support to stop this nonsense second-best service in this country. We deserve the best!
