Unfair and Unprofessional Process from IMM

On the 13th of January 2024, I decided to enroll myself to study further, so I app**** to pursue an International Supply Chain Degree with IMM. I was contacted and informed that I have been qualified and accepted to conduct the degree with IMM. The next week, an invoice was sent for payment to be made. My company had paid for the studies and everything was following in order. I started attending lectures , I bought text books, I started going through the modules and completing all the tasks. A few weeks after on the 26th of February I got contacted and was advised that I do not qualify for the degree because I hold an International diploma that is apparently not recognized in SA ( mind you this was done in 2010) and I would now need to take it to SAQA to get it verified and give me a NQF level. This process was going to take at least 3 months. Time was wasted. They blocked me and cancelled my student number. My point is that all of these checks on qualifications and stuff should of been sorted out well in advance prior to the commencement of the degree. I am quiet upset about the whole process and I feel that this is very unfair. IMM now decided that I need to do a numeracy module and if pass that one , I can carry on with the degree in the next semester. For all those are studying , please make sure that you do all of your checks before settling for what businesses try to sell to you. At the end of the day I feel that this is all a money making scheme. and this has left me feeling very bitter.
