Imm worse tertiary institution
Imm does not explain to the students when they have a query. I was accused of plagiarism and for not in being on the app for more than 5 mins yet the assignment did not require the use of the app, I have asked IMM to explain and to prove that I used someone’s else material as well as a copy of my marked paper and to show me my mark allocation, only to receive sorry they made a mistake regarding the app comment. I asked to view my marked paper and to show me how they reached that mark, I received no response. Some students got zero for plagiarism yet they were given the opportunity to write supplementary and others that was accused have to redo the module, Imm cannot explain this.. with Imm they don’t care.. students are tired and just paying in order to finish there degree. Don’t use this institution in my opinion it feels like a money making institution. They accused me I want to see proof,

Unfortunately, our response times within the first 72 business hours after the release of semester results, can take up to 72 business hours to respond to.

The IMM Graduate School is serious about the academic integrity of our assessment processes and uses plagiarism detection and proctoring software to measure the authenticity of submissions.
A detailed report regarding the plagiarism identified in your submission, including an invitation to you to arrange an academic interview should you wish to dispute the plagiarism evidence presented, was emailed to you on 9 December 2023. The accusation that the IMM Graduate School did not provide you with an explanation is premature as you have not engaged in an academic interview as yet.
The IMM Graduate School is committed to reviewing plagiarism occurrences during such interviews to ensure firstly that any queries are resolved and secondly that the student understands how to avoid plagiarism in future. This is a critical academic process.
The IMM Graduate School acknowledged in writing, that the report which we emailed to you incorrectly included a reference to out-of-app time. This was an unfortunate error and it was not deliberate and the IMM Graduate School apologised in writing for the inconvenience caused. Reviewing the plagiarism and proctoring software for thousands of assessments before results are released is a huge undertaking and puts immense pressure on our resources. It is very unfortunate that an incorrect reference was included in the you report, yet the IMM Graduate School trusts that our students appreciate our efforts in ensuring that academic integrity is upheld and that graduates can rest assured that their qualifications are well-deserved and of high standing.
You have unfortunately used the platform where plagiarism in assessment are discussed, to also dispute the marking of your assessment. The IMM Graduate School has formal appeals processes available to students who want to appeal their marks received. You can request this information via your ticket reference PQD-NDSTB-986 or review the Assessment Result Appeal policy in the annual 2023 Yearbook available for download from the IMM Graduate School website.
As a third-year student, the IMM Graduate School expects students to be aware of the fact that the submission feedback is available on the eLearn platform where the assessment was initially submitted for grading. This has been the case since 2020. This feedback includes reference to the marker’s observations regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the submission. This remains visible throughout the semester.
The IMM Graduate School is unaware of students who received zero for plagiarism who were allowed to complete the Supplementary Final Assessment. This is not allowed for in our policies, nor in practise. There is possibly confusion regarding students who failed the proctoring software tests and who were allowed to complete the Chancellor’s Examination if the failed module was the last remaining module required to complete their qualification. The rules regarding special final assessments are available to the student on the IMM Graduate School’s website.
We would like to invite you to a person-to-person or online meeting to discuss this further and to ensure that any remaining queries are resolved.
