Bad service and poor response to the covid19 crisis!
The Imm service has been really unacceptable this year! First issue , my first assignment was not Marked by the Imm. They keep on doing investigation, take almost half a year to solve. - simply can be resolved with in a week!
Secondly issue, the Imm has not taken into consideration challenges students are face during this covid19 pandemic. They make the final exams a full on online exams, as you know South Africa reliablitity of the internet, power is not stable. This does not create the right environment for students to write exams. As you know part-time working students has gone through extreme amouts of stress due to the covid19 crisis and Economic conditions of South Africa. Family members have losted loved ones and jobs have losted. The Imm simply added more stress due to their lack of support during theses times, but simply Ignore suggestions make to the Imm.
I have to send email after email and seems like I am not getting any where with the Imm.
The only thing the Imm cares about is how much money they make out of students.
I would not recommend anyone to study with The Imm!

It would only be correct that I mention upfront that between myself and various members of staff, we have addressed the points you raised above. Our responses in essence have been as below:
In terms of the assignment in question:
In terms of the assignment in question:
- You did not submit your assignment 1 in the format as prescribed
- Your received 0% for the said assignment
- You appealed the outcome of this decision
- An appeal hearing was held and the chair upheld the decision from the IMM
- You appealed the decision again, and this was referred to the Academic Board. The final Academic Board meeting is to be held on Thursday this week, whereafter you will receive the outcome no later than Monday 7 December.
In terms of online learning and assessments:
The IMM Graduate School is one of only a few academic institutions in South Africa that did not lose a single academic week of this academic year, with our final assessments having been written in the original October time slots as published before lockdown. Some private higher education institutions canceled the entire first semester.
We were able to continue with the academic year by making use of our online platforms which were in place well before COVID-19. We accommodated our students during the lockdown period by means of multiple strategies which amongst other things included being available online during lockdown levels 5, 4, and 3 through multiple communication platforms, including the Helpme email address which you have used as well.

We furthermore allowed students who app**** for the deferment of their studies to 2021 (due to financial constraints or having lost their jobs) to do so without any financial cost to the student. It is thus untrue to say that the IMM Graduate School did not assist students who were in financial distress.
To the best of my understanding, there was not a single academic institution (or school) that did not revert to online teaching and assessments. A recent press statement from the Minister of Higher Education and Training stated that the data as available to the DHET states that students performed better academically due to the massive shift to online education. The IMM Graduate School fully supports the Minister in his initiative to fast-track the online learning options for students. It is important to note that the participation of students during the final assessment in October 2020 increased by 4% when compared to written final assessments. This greater participation by students shows that online learning is the way of the future which the IMM Graduate school will continue to embrace.
We recommend to all students that they need to embrace the future of education, namely being online learning and we welcome new students who are willing to join the exciting learning opportunities via online learning.
