Pressure tactics! Be careful!

I booked and paid in full for a cruise 6 months before the cruise. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when I discover that this cruise is being substantially discounted 4 weeks before the cruise.

I distinctly remember asking about whether this cruise is likely to be discounted nearer the time and specifically asked whether I can wait. The answer was equally specific: “This cruise will sell out very quick – you better book now or miss out”.

They should be able for review their recordings to verify this, but I instead got back a long explanation as to why they would not say this. My request to speak to a more senior person to explore possible resolution was flatly ignored.

They are clearly applying pressure tactics to sell the packages and receive payment in full up front. I would have expected some sort of compensation for the early payment (since they have now earned substantial interest on the R70k+ I paid 6 months ago) once they start discounting the cruise.

My advice is simple - do not pay these people in advance - there is no benefit.
