Full Refund for Vacations due to COVID-19

Good day, Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, i called Imagine Holidays the first week of March requesting that we postpone our holiday to Dubai, Thailand and Bangkok in September 20 and they are refusing us the option to choose another package or to refund us our money. We cannot even plan our vacation due this pandemic and we should be offered the option to be refunded or to postpone our vaccation. They are now telling us to get insurance for our vacation. Why must I incur more expenses when this is a world wide pandemic? This is really unfair for Imagine Cruising to hold us hostage and say we will lose our deposit. My mother and her friends, who are are pensioners and that is their savings. Yesterday we received an email from Imagine saying we need to have paid our September vacation in full by the end of May. How do we pay when we don't know if this pandemic will be in full force in September. We do not want to risk our lives. Imagine Cruising please do right by us and refund us our money, with the financial constraints that the country is facing we should be assisted.

And they can't even respond to this message. Yet they can send me an email saying I should pay the outstanding amount soon.

Good day,

Thank you for your feedback.

As explained to you telephonically, all passengers whose Holiday dates become cancelled due to the Coronavirus will automatically be offered a future Holiday Credit/Option at a date either later this year or a date in 2021.

Your departure dates have not been affected at this current moment therefore the normal cancellation policies have to be adhered to as agreed to at the point of making your booking; your Consultant also advised at the point of booking that one should always have Standard Travel & Medical insurance in place as soon as your booking has been made.

The reason you were reminded to pay your outstanding balance is because your Holiday Components need to be issued by each of the different suppliers involved in your Holiday package; by not doing so, your elements wont be issued & then the policy mentioned in the first paragraph cannot be offered if your dates of travel are affected by the current Global Crisis. You will then not only lose out of your Holiday but also on the deposit paid.

It is therefore in your best interest to pay your outstanding balance as you can then remain at ease that if your Holiday does get cancelled due to the Corona Virus you will have the option to travel at a later date.

Sincere regards
Imagine Cruising
