Cruising down the Danube

<p>In September last year I booked a cruise on the Danube, for a friend and myself, through Imagine Cruising, I too, like Vicky Ireland was told that the deposit had to be paid immediatedly and that the balance by the beginning of January 2017. I also agree with everything written in her review. I was warned that the price of the trip might increase and therefore the balance should be paid asap. This of course did not happen. Initially I was lead to believe that the hotel we would be booked in in Prague would be a mere 15 minute walk from the Old Town. This was in fact false information as the hotel was very far from the Old Town. On arrival at the hotel there was caios. We were picked up at the hotel and driven to Passau to board the Rosa Donna. The guide knew that we were not going to be able to board the boat at 14h00 but only at 16h00 but did not inform us - we could have been taken on a tour of Passau as the tour quide did for the Spaniards (they had arranged for their own tour quide as they had booked the cruise as a group). On reaching the boat we were told for the first time that we could not go on board. We were told that we could sit on the sundeck of the Rosa Riva but as it was freezing cold we protested and were allowed to sit in their lounge. We had not eaten since breakfast or had anything to drink. After more protest we were allowed to have some food and drink. Apparently were not allowed on baord as the ship was being sanitised due to a bug on board. Either the bug was not eradicated or passengers brought it on board at the next stop as quite a number of passengers and crew got ill. Communication was very poor on board. Other than that I enjoyed the trip. </p>
