Images of Africa - Bad Workmanship
After a hunting trip in 2019 I have taken my newly hunted kudu trophy to Images of Africa Taxidermy (Kevin Cooper) to prepare a shoulder mount for me. I have also given him my old kudu trophy and requested them to put the old trophy horns on the new trophy and do a skull mount with the new horns. This normally gets done around a one-year timeline. After 2 years I started to request progress updates via WhatsApp's, SMS's and phone calls. It was very difficult to get hold of them and once in a while you will get an answer that they are still busy with the mounts. I even went to his premisses but was never allowed to enter. Nobody opened the gate and once in a while one of the workers will come out and say that the owner is not there. After 6 years, in 2015, I have decided to be a pest and did send WhatsApp's on regular basis with lots of phone calls that was almost never answered. Eventually I have received a WhatsApp that state that I can collect my trophies. I was verry exited and arranged for the collection. I arrived at the premisses and once again could not enter. 2 of the workers met me outside with my trophies. What a shock I got arriving home and properly check the work done and was even more shocked when I compared the trophies with the photos of what I have given them. The workmanship of the trophy was really bad. It was not my kudu's skin, and the tip of the horns was not correct. I place a photo of the shoulder mount on several pages on Facebook and received hundreds of comments of bad workmanship. My request to you as a fellow hunter that would like to do shoulder mounts of your hunted trophies is to not use Images of Africa.
