This is the worst bus ever. I was travelling from Cape Town to East London. I booked for my return as well (biggest mistake). The bus arrived an hour late at the Cape Town bus station. It was stopped by traffic officers 3 times on the road because it’s not in the right condition to travel long distances - it doesn’t have a permit. We had to wait for about 2 hours on the road for another bus which never arrived. I don’t know how they got away, probably by bribery, we just saw the bus leaving after hours of waiting.

Bus drivers were drinking and driving and kept stopping at random places on the road to buy alcohol. These drivers would just stop in the middle of nowhere for no valid reason. We had to go pee at the bushes, one of the random places they stopped at, because they didn’t want to stop at the garage. They were putting our lives at risk. We had to forcefully take a bottle of whiskey from the drivers because they were drunk. Thank God we’re still alive, we could’ve been a statistic. We were supposed to arrive in East London at 10am but we arrived at 4pm. IMAGINE! SIES!

It was raining and the bus was leaking. Oh Ghard!

On my return, the bus got stuck on the road for about 4 hours in Mossel Bay. Arrival time was 06:25 but we arrived at 12:00 in Cape Town. The drivers don’t even communicate with passengers about what’s happening.

I hate this bus with all my heart, with all my mind and with all my soul. Every time I see it I wanna puke. Ilula bus should just close down honestly. Their service is unprofessional and whack.

This was my first and last time booking this bus.

No matter how broke you are, please don’t opt for this ****py bus. You might come back in a body bag or arrive extremely late because of their filthy, disgusting, awful and unprofessional service.

Ilula bus is the perfect definition of ****. When someone asks me what is ****, I just say Ilula bus.
