Diplomats: I would think twice before choosing Ikonic

As a Brazilian diplomat who has lived in Pretoria for several years, I chose Ikonic in part because of its strong presence among the diplomatic and expatriate community.

Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. During my tenancy, significant maintenance and property-condition issues arose. These were documented through an independent professional inspection. I was particularly disappointed not only by the condition of the property, but by the way the issues were handled and by the level of support I received from the agency.

The matter ultimately led me to terminate the tenancy and seek legal assistance.

For diplomats and other international clients considering Ikonic, my advice would be to obtain an independent inspection before moving in, document everything carefully, and consider all your alternatives before committing to a tenancy through the agency.

Based on my experience, I would not choose Ikonic again.
