IHS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT - TENANTS DEPOSITS - BEWARE

I have just had an experience with these Estate agents whereby they use your deposit to carry out the maintenance and repairs that they should be doing on their rentals - I rented at Terenure Estate Kempton Park. No photos were taken upon entry of the premises, yet on exit of the premises everything was photographed and all flaws that were there upon entry we were held responsible for. They have taken almost R2000 of my deposit to paint walls that were not in need of painting, a door hinge that was broken and reported when I moved in. Yet they did not hold the money back for the gate tag that I had. This is a clear indication that Tenants are paying for the maintenance and repairs with their deposits ( as mentioned previously). Then I am told that there is a non refundable rental admin fee which was also deducted. Yet I was never told this and it is not stated anywhere in my lease agreement.
