IHS property management is disgusting!

IHS property management is supposed to be a prestigious estate agency but is by far the worst estate agency I have ever dealt with.

When we signed a lease with IHS property management in 2017 we were told that we needed to pay rent via debit order. We were told that it was compulsory.

In November 2018, our rental debit order went off as per usual yet we were told that they could not allocate the payment and that we were in arrears.

After various phone calls and e-mails to which their accounts department does not even respond to.

We had constantly sent bank statements that showed the rent going off to which the issue was still not resolved due to their internal issues!!!

How does a tenant become liable for a debit order issue that was set up with IhS property management? How do you tell a tenant that they are in arrears because a debit order went off as per usual, money left the account but IHS struggled to locate and allocate the debit order? Despite us sending banking statements

After numerous e-mails sending the bank statements. Ihs property management then proceeded to send us letters stating that we are in arrears, from there they started debiting excess funds, apparently to collect the November 2018 Rent which mind you, was already collected in November 2018 via debit order.

This continued up until January 2019. we had to reverse debit order and pay the rental amount manually because they continued to collect an extra R500 on our debit order and when we called them about it, they always said "sorry its an issue on our side please reverse the debit order and only pay your rent"

In january 2019 we started getting calls from a debt collection company because they handed our details over.

P.s again about the November Rent.

At the end of January 2019 they finally found the November debit order and allocated the funds and apologized but now in February 2019 they send us a statement saying that we should pay debt collection fees !!!

How is a tenant liable for debt collection fees when we set up a debit order with IHS property management. Money left the account in november 2019. They apologized to us about the issue on THEIR side but still send us a statement with debt collection fees?

IHS property management is by far the worst estate agency you will ever deal with. They cannot manage their accounts department. They were prepared to negatively impact our credit ratings due to their internal accounts issues, they DO NOT know what they are doing.

Pathetic to say the least. There is no superior one can contact , no way of resolving issues with them. They just do not care. I am shocked that as a tenant who never defaults on payment, that we have been treated this way.

Disgusting!
