De Velde - A Warning Before you move here.

I love De Velde, the place itself. It is great. Just wish all the rich old house ladies from the home-owners association could find something better to do with their time.

IHS Property Management + Whitfields is a total flop. The management is horrible and the place is full of petty complaints. R550 fines if your washing is on the balcony while you mop the floor and need to move it outside for a second on a washing stand (if you are unlucky they bill that to the wrong unit and you will be expected to pay).

If you are okay with sorting out issues your self when you rent and nosy home owners watching you every move then the place is okay - Just don't expect any courtesy from any of the employees here as they seem to think, because you rent you are not as important as the home owners.

Another thing is the monopoly Whitfields has with the only available Fibre Provider in their estates, Vumatel/Vuma Villages. You have no other choice and they offer a horrible service.

For a working class person that has had to rely on them while working from home during covid, I can guarantee you that their service will let you down when ever you really need it.

I can't wait to move to a place with less drama and possibly more polite people.
