Ignite Fitness awful customer service

Like so many, I have only had issues with this gym. Their customer service department is an absolute joke. “Typically gets back to you in 24 hours”. Try TWO WEEKS. I have sent 7 different people and departments messages and only today, 2 weeks later did someone reply.

I signed up for a year at the new Somerset West branch for the special opening fee of R299 a month. This was the only amount that was ever mentioned to me. I still discussed with the guy who signed me up (I won’t mention names - I’m about to go confront him) that I’ll probably be going overseas in May and what the cancellation fee would be. He told me 60% of whatever remains on the account so for 6 month, just over R1000. I was fine with that. He said he would email me my contract, which I have yet to receive. I have been overcharged 2 months now at R399. As I mentioned, I have send numerous messages to Instagram and various email addresses as well as discussing it in person. I have been fobbed off to the next person every time. Now I get an email and told to show proof of the R299 agreement which I obviously don’t have because I never received my contract. Clearly they don’t read their emails properly either. I was told they can’t cancel my contract without the cancellation fee which would be a ridiculous amount of R2300+. I have read of many people who have had problems with the accounts department and that their fees are suddenly higher than the agreement. Is this all a ploy to rope people in and then *******ly charge them more than they agreed on? I will 100% take this further. I am so disappointed by their unprofessionalism and rude attitudes. They won’t last long at this rate. Zero star rating from me.
