Dishonest Business Practices at Ignite Fitness Could Damage Your Credit Score

This trailing email correspondence serves as a cautionary warning to consumers of this organisation's (Ignite Fitness'es) dishonest business practices:

This email serves as a final attempt to resolve an ongoing issue regarding an erroneous membership account associated with my name at Ignite Fitness. Despite my previous communications (dated 6 December 2023) to Zady Cupido and Schwulst at your Claremont branch, I continue to receive harassing and demanding messages requesting payment for a membership I never subscribed to.

As I have clearly stated before, I have never been a member of Ignite Fitness, and I have no outstanding debt with your organization. My only interaction with Ignite Fitness was during a one-month trial period, which was paid for in full at the time.

The persistent demands for payment and threats of further action are not only inaccurate but also detrimental to my reputation and credit score. This harassment is completely unacceptable, and I demand immediate action to rectify this situation.

Therefore, I am formally requesting the following:

Immediate removal of my name from any and all Ignite Fitness membership and billing systems. Confirmation in writing that the outstanding balance on my purported account has been cleared. An apology for the inconvenience and unnecessary stress caused by these erroneous communications.

Please be advised that if this matter is not resolved to my satisfaction within 7 business days, I will be forced to escalate it further by filing a complaint with the National Credit Regulator (NCR). I will also consider taking legal action to recover any damages incurred as a result of this ongoing harassment.

I implore you to take this matter seriously and act swiftly to rectify it.

Sincerely, Koko

Dear Ms. Cupido,

I hope this email finds you well.

Thank you for your friendly reminder regarding the unpaid balance on my account. However, I must reiterate that there appears to be a significant error in your records, as I have never been a member of Ignite Fitness or Zone Fitness, and I do not have any outstanding fees with your organization.

Furthermore, I would like to take this opportunity to share some feedback from my trial experience at the Claremont gym during the countrywide trial period. Unfortunately, my experience was far from positive, and I noted various issues such as unclean facilities, damaged equipment that remained unrepaired, and the absence of hot water for an entire month. These concerns, along with others related to the safety of women in the facility, were outlined in my feedback when I chose not to sign up for a membership.

Given my less-than-pleasant experience during the trial period, the misadministration regarding my membership status does not come as a surprise. However, I must emphasize that rectifying such administrative errors is not my responsibility.

I appreciate your understanding and prompt attention to this matter. If there are any further administrative steps required to correct the record, I trust that you will handle them accordingly. Please refrain from any further communication regarding outstanding fees, as I am confident that the issue will be resolved promptly.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Kind regards, Koko

Dear Ms. Cupido,

I trust this email finds you well.

I recently received your communication regarding an outstanding amount of R 1,170.00 in membership fees at Ignite Fitness. However, I must bring to your attention that there seems to be a misunderstanding.

Contrary to the information in your email, I was never a member of Ignite Fitness, and I have not entered into any membership agreement with Ignite Fitness. It appears there might be a mix-up in the records, as my only association with Ignite Fitness was during a one-month trial period, which was documented and paid for in advance. I kindly request that you review the details with the members of your Claremont gym branch to clarify this matter.

Moreover, I have not consented to receive any marketing emails from Ignite Fitness, and I would appreciate it if you could refrain from contacting me further in this regard. Please note that I will be adding this email to my SPAM filter to avoid any unintended correspondence.

If there are any administrative errors or discrepancies, I would be happy to assist in resolving them promptly. However, I must emphasize that I am not liable for any outstanding fees as I am not, and have never been, a member of Ignite Fitness.

Thank you for your understanding, and I trust we can swiftly resolve this matter.

Warm regards, Koko Pambo
