Waiting a week for a diagnosis with no feedback

I sent my laptop into iFix a week ago, the staff were very friendly and professional. I was notified as soon as it was booked in and was told I would be sent a quote as soon as it was diagnosed. The next day I received an email saying the technician was busy the the laptop and I would be notified as soon as it was done.

On Monday I emailed inquiring into the progress with no reply. I have now been waiting a week for a diagnosis and quote. If it takes this long for a simple diagnosis, i am hesitant to go forth with the actual repair work. It is my work laptop and I would simply like to know if it will be repaired in a reasonable time or if I should start investigating buying a new one.

Hello RobSalzwedel,

As discussed with you over the phone, repairs regarding liquid damage on Mac's takes longer than normal repairs, due to the fact that the cleaning process involves carefully cleaning each component and connector to remove the corrosion and then determining which parts need to be replaced. On Friday we provided you with an update, but at that time we could not provide you with a quote, as the cleaning process had not been completed as yet. After completing the liquid damage cleaning process your device was sent out by the technician as irreparable, but you were not notified as yet, and for that we apologize.
