S8 repair. 60 days later and still no device

Hellopeter WB Waleed Brown ********** Mon 26/02/2018 10:57 To: Waleed Brown ********** Evernote I had my 4 month old Samsung Galaxy S8 screen repaired at Wefix in early December 2017. I contacted one of the branches who advised me that they would not be able to seal the device and the IP rating (water and dust resistance) would be compromised. They forwarded my request to another branch who they claimed would ensure the IP rating would not be compromised. On my initial visit, assessment took about an hour and after accepting, repairs took a further 2 hours and I was happy with the service. 2 weeks later on Christmas day my phone was splashed with water and roughly 20 seconds later the device became as useful as a lifeless brick. I contacted Wefix attaching the emails from their staff stating the IP rating not being compromised. I was then requested to deliver the device to the same store that had done the initial repair for assessment and return within an hour on 29 December 2017. I have since been back to the store 4 times after being informed the device was either ready for collection or being called into the store. The branch is not the most convenient location and is a pain to have to visit continuously especially with Cape Town traffic in the afternoon.

I have been receiving contradicting information from the manager and as of today, Monday, 26 February 2018 (60 days later) have still not received my device due to parts not being available and apparent delays with Samsung International and parts recall. I have been told via email all the parts are available and they are awaiting the delivery of the motherboard only to be told 2 weeks later they are awaiting delivery of the screen for the device. I have received SMS regarding the repair at 2am and continuous SMS for about a week and then nothing. I always have to be the first to communicate to get a response out of them.

I am leaving South Africa in just under two weeks and require my phone to manage my travel arrangements, the link to my camera, my cloud services, NFC payment methods and a now useless DeX. I will never recommended Wefix. They didn't make it better. They just made things a whole lot worse.
