Quote accepted and paid ifix is now not honouring

On 26 December I took my tablet to ifix with a damaged screen, I received a quote accepted it and paid for repairs. I was notified that they however didn't have stock on hand and I was fine with waiting. Today I received a call from a guy telling me that I will receive my tablet before end of this week. Since I work around the area I went in to them to get the exact timeline. I was then attended by the lady who had booked in the tablet for me. She told me that they cannot fix my tablet because the replacement screen they received costs more than what they initially quoted.I was told to either pay more money or get a refund. I then asked the lady what's the point of the quote if I now have to pay more money and she told me that on the 26th I was told not to pay for the repairs but wait until the repairs were complete. What was the point of the quote then? They quoted, I accepted the quote and paid so why am I being penalised?

Hello LookSmart,

Apologies for the delay and incorrect quote.

The quotation was the result of a verbal agreement between yourself and the manager. This is not our standard quoting procedure, which opened the gap for error and for this we apologise too.

Your device has since been repaired and collected at the original amount you paid upfront. We trust everything is well and that the replacement screen is serving you to your expectation.

Kind Regards
