IPad Pro 10.5 Air ****** at Cape Town office whilst in WEFIX Care
*** - CTPH30825 IPad Pro 10.5 Air ****** at Cape Town office whilst in WEFIX Care for repair when an armed ******* happened. I have paid insurance premiums for over 2 years on this device. WEFIX claims the IPAD is "BER" on their assessment when it was ****** who knows since its gone, Discovery insure claims I have specified an IPAD Pro 10.5 instead of an IPad Pro 10.5 Air so although they where happy to have received premiums for over 2 years along with the 2 x 12,9 IPad Pro's they are also not paying because it should have said IPad Pro 10.5 Air and it said IPad Pro 10.5? So that leaves me with no IPAD and WEFIX saying sorry for an IPAD ****** whilst in their care and Discovery saying the specification which the insurance consultant should verify with me is also not paying +2 years of premiums later??
We empathize with you in that this is a frustrating situation for you and that the desired outcome vs the reality of your scenario are not aligned.
However, weFix is an independent repair company.
We are repair service partners with Discovery
Our business is to repair and we are not insurance providers nor have an FSP.
I would like to take the time to summarize the situation below from weFix's position and ask you to kindly propose a solution on how we would be able to make this better for you.
Your device was booked in on job CTPA309049 on the 28th July 2021.
Your iPad Air 3 (not iPad Pro) was assessed and declared BER on the 29th July 2021.
- This was declared BER due to excessive physical damage as well as Liquid Damage.
- The Report was sent through to Discovery on the 29th July 2021
- I state this and attach the damage report in response to your accusation on Hello Peter below:
'WEFIX claims the IPAD is "BER" on their assessment when it was ****** who knows since its gone'
- The report has also been submitted from our system to our insurance company. To put in a false claim would be deemed insurance ***** and I can assure you that we have built a very strong system to ensure that all records are stored with date & time stamps.
- Discovery would or should have made contact with you shortly after this to advise your device was BER and what the next steps of your claim are.
- Past this point, we do not have control over what happens with your claim as it is with your insurer to advise.
So the IPAD Air was lost in your care
(WEFIX)
Your device was ****** in an Armed ******* on the 5th August 2021 where our staff were held up at gunpoint. I need to repeat that at no time are our staff encouraged to risk their life in any way for any possession. This would be a crime against humanity. There was really nothing that they could have done in this situation to avoid your device being taken. I note this in response to your claim above.
Whilst I can appreciate that this is frustrating, please understand that we do not have any control over the device that was listed on your insurance nor can we refund you since the premiums were never paid to us.
Our insurance has advised that they are to restore all customers to the same position that they were in prior to the *******.
We have submitted all records of all jobs/devices affected to them and to report anything different to get you a new device would be committing insurance *****.
We have offered as a gesture of good will for the inconvenience caused to you, to cover your excess on a replacement device from Discovery.
Kind Regards
