iOS 11.3 and 3rd party screens
I had the screen of my Apply iPhone 8Plus replaced at weFix Tygervalley in February. The cost was R5,000, the same as the cost of a genuine Apple screen, the reason I went to weFix was because they offered same day repair. On 13 April I updated to iOS 11.3 and immediately the touch screen stopped working. The reason apparently is that the update is not compatible with 3rd party screens. The only resolution weFix can offer is to wait for iOS 11.3.1. Surely if my screen is no longer working it should be covered by the warranty and I should be able to claim my money back so that I can get an Apple screen fitted, like this fellow sufferer posted? "i ended up having to send my phone in to apple and they had to replace my screen with an apple screen. it works fine now and i was without it only for a few days. the repair shop that i originally went to refunded my money since they had a 90 day guarantee on their repairs. so it was essentially a "break even" for me." I even see in a press release it is stated that "While weFix has not yet received news of any local screen incidences, its network of technicians continues to monitor the issue." - this is SERIOUSLY untrue since I reported it immediately and have been sending daily emails so there is at least one incidence!
Good day ma'am

Thank you
“As has been the case with previous software updates, we anticipate that a patch will be released within days. Should consumers experience and hardware or software issues with their Apple or other devices, we invite them to bring their devices to weFix for a check-up a professional diagnosis by one of our expert technicians.”
So if I take my phone in what will weFilx be able to do?

Hi Heidi,
The technicians can check as it states, to see whether or not whatever issues you're experiencing is related to the glitch or if it's anything else - that's as much as they can do right now.
Kind regards,
Neelofah

Haha okay - I'l rather wait for the updated then, thanks so much!
Please advise why you would be inquiring this from us just this morning if you already voided our warranty and took your device to Apple and had the screen replaced and it works?
Kind regards,
Giselle Nareen - Head of Customer Service for weFix
