Diagnostic Fee

On 03 April 2018, I took my cellular phone (Samsung A7) to weFix Clearwater because it was not charging the battery. The phone was booked under Job Number: CLSA068480. The only thing the agent who was doing the booking of the phone explained to me was that I still have choice of accepting or rejecting the repairs quotation. On the 4 April I received an SMS to notify me of R3000 quotation for repairs, when I know very well and told the agent that the problem was suppose to fall under warranty just like when I used to have the same problem with my previous Samsung S5 and it was repair under warranty at Samsung Repair Centre by 14 Avenue offramp before they close down.

On the 5 April 2018, I went back to the store to get my phone back since I saw that as a day light *******, on the phone that is under warranty. Upon arrival the same agent who did the booking then told me I have to pay an amount of R179 if I'm rejecting the quote. I had a serious problem with the agent not telling me at the time of the booking about the diagnostic fee, and only telling me upon the rejection of the quote. To me that is unprincipled and ********* to say the least. I left the store without my cellular since both the agent the manager in charge failed to resolved the problem.

I had a choice of not booking the phone in with weFix if I had been told from the onset about any financial implications involved irrespective of the outcome of the diagnosis, of which days later after the incident I took the phone to Vodacom, and Vodacom fixed the phone under warranty for free to prove that companies such as we fix are *********** customers.

On the 7 April 2018, fearing that something bad might happen to my cellular phone I took my money and paid the R169, only then my phone was released.

Please investigate this, as I feel that the issue is not about how much the money is, but the principle behind. And weFix musn't even make an excuse that they used their time to diagnose the phone, had they told me i wouldn't have booked the phone in . What is weFix telling us as customers when they don't say anything about any financial implications involved but try rip you off with some ridiculous diagnostic fees when the are failing to make a quick buck with their unjustified quotations?

Regards

Hi Keneilwe,

We are terribly sorry to hear this as our stores should always notify customers upfront of any charges.
